Water Tower reflected
PreviousNext
The Water Tower in Roald Dahl Plass, is one of many locations around Cardiff Bay that has become immediately recognisable to any fans of the BBC's revitalised Doctor Who and Torchwood.
Known as the emergency exit to the Torchwood Institute's underground headquarters, the Timelord's TARDIS has been seen parked outside this stunning piece of architecture on several occasions in the two shows.
Reflected in the tower is the Wales Millennium Centre, fronted with the inscriptions 'Creu Gwir fel Gwydr o Ffwrnais Awen' (‘Creating truth like glass from inspiration’s furnace’) and ‘In these stones horizons sing’. Gwyneth Lewis’ words reflect both Wales’ industrial heritage and cultural importance.
